St. Cecilia's School

We had a very busy last term and we have had lots of fun and adventures. As part of “Being Part of the Community “ and focusing and learning about people in the community who help us we enjoyed visits from the Irish Coast Guard helicopter and the local fire service. We also enjoyed various trips to different local beaches for example Mullaghmore, Strandhill, Rosses Point, Streedagh and Rossnowlagh. We built sandcastles, enjoyed walks on the beach and splashing in the water. We had so much fun visiting the rock pools at Rosses Point. We are looking forward to visiting Castle Adventure Farm in Ballyshannon just before our school holidays. We have learned all about different animals this term as part of our animal theme. In art we have created different art pieces inspired by global famous artists such as Pablo Picasso and Leonardo Da Vinci. We also created newspaper elephants. As part of “Communication, Language and Literacy” we have worked on using our AAC devices to makes requests, choices, show preferences for things, greetings, naming different animals and in response to questions. As part of “Physical Education “ we enjoyed different PE sessions with John the PE teacher. We really enjoyed Active Schools Week and we enjoyed participating in the boccia tournament and in the School Cycling Day. Two children from Pink Class participated in the Special Olympics recently.
