St. Cecilia's School

Micheál Ó Cléirigh one of the Four Masters

Our principal Éilis Dillon went to Leuven just outside Brussels in Belgium to a European Studies Conference on Thursday 27th February until Sunday 2nd March. There were teachers there from all over Europe. They stayed in the Irish College. St. Cecilia’s School are in a group with two other special schools and four mainstream schools – Donegal, Derry, Armagh, London, Berlin and Croatia. The Conference started early on both mornings and went on most of the day. There was time off both afternoons – On Friday we had a welcome at the Town Hall from the Deputy Mayor with responsibility for Education and on Saturday we were taken by coach to see the Parliamenterium in Brussels. Some teachers who had been there before went on other trips. It was a great opportunity and we will work hard on our two projects next year – Sport and Planting. Éilis is going to send turnip seeds to the school in Croatia and another school will send us seeds. We will all try to plant them at the same time and keep a record.
