Last Thursday the 7th of November was international outdoor classroom day. We fully embraced it in Green Class. We had 4th year students from the Outdoor Education course in GMIT in to do some outdoor lessons with us. The weather was great, lovely crisp clear day, and we had a great time planting spider plants.
Green class have enjoyed conducting a light experiment this term. We planted cress seeds, and put some on the windowsill and some in a box. We watered our plants and watched them grow. The cress in the box was yellow. The cress on the windowsill was green. The cress needed the light to grow.
Our Communication and Language lesson has an added ingredient recently when Green Class went on a sensory picnic. We went to Hazelwood to read our class poem about Goldilocks and the 3 bears. We enjoyed listening to the story in a different environment and trying the different types of porridge, just as Goldilocks did in
We have been working on how to cross the road in Green Class with the help of our class lollipop lady, whom we helped to paint. We all went to Sligo after studying stop, look and listen to put our work into practice. Gareth and Sean practiced pressing the button at the pedestrian crossing and
Students had a great day last Thursday 19th of May when we went to Fermannagh for the day. Students arrived at school early and we all eagarly set off. We all enjoyed experiencing windsurfing on the lake (we were all very glad to have wet suits) and making t-shirts and modroc sculptures. It was great
Green Class have been making great progress during their horse riding sessions at Markree this year.
