Stendents began our Active School Flag Week in great fashion today. Senior students enjoyed a surf lesson with Perfect Day surf school and other students increased their activity levels through a walk around their local environment. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed increasing their participation levels in sport.

Students have been entered for several upcoming Special Olympic events at Sligo IT on Wednesday 9th May. We have entered assisted walking, independent walking and independent wheelchair events, with students participating at their own level. Students worked very hard raising awareness of being environmentally friendly last Friday. The whole school went for a 1k walk around Wisdom Services to highlight environmentally friendly ways in which people can travel to and from work and school. Students had a great day last Thursday 19th of May when we went to Fermannagh for the day. Students arrived at school early and we all eagarly set off. We all enjoyed experiencing windsurfing on the lake (we were all very glad to have wet suits) and making t-shirts and modroc sculptures. It was great

St. Cecilia’s were happy to welcome the Mobile Visual Support Unit from St. Joseph’s School in Dublin. Teachers, Parents, S.N.A.s, personnel from the HSE and Wisdom Services were invited to attend sessions.
