Curriculum

School Curricula

At St. Cecilia’s School we offer a wide curriculum for our students.  Students from 4-12 work on the Primary Curriculum – English, Mathematics, Social Personal and Health Education (SPHE), SESE (Science, History, Geography), P.E. Visual Arts, Music and Drama.

Students from 12-16 participate in a life long learning model – Junior Cycle learning at level 1 (L1LPs), level 2 (L2LPs) or a combination of both levels.  This is supplemented by project based learning through 2 short courses based on a theme.

Our 16-18 year olds participate in QQI awards at level 1 or level 2 to build on their learning and develop in areas of strength to gain qualifications which can build into their future achievements.

We use a student centered approach and a School Support Plus Plan (SSPP) is drawn up in collaboration with parents and the multidisciplinary team. These plans are reviewed regularly throughout the year.
